Caritas International is a NGO active within the fields of emergency aid, rehabilitation, development cooperation and migration.
We are part of a worldwide network in 163 countries. That is one of our strengths, as it enables us to call on local people when action is needed.
We primarily focus on food security. This is linked to the first Millennium goal "reducing extreme poverty and hunger".
We also stress the importance of good and healthy food for everyone. Within the food security program, it is therefore not only important to increase local production but also essential to improve the nutritional levels of the food, particularly for women and children.
Caritas International considers food security around the world to be a human right!
